Corporate Express logistics centre

The Corporate Express warehouse and dispatch hall is situated in Waldlaubersheim near Bingen. The hall area of approx. 45,000 sqm is divided into four different zones: rack and pallet storage, materials handling and dispatch. These departments are separated into fire compartments by precast concrete walls. The supporting structure of the logistics facility consists of precast reinforced concrete elements with a trapezoidal sheet metal roof. The approx. 1,400 sqm office section is situated on a mezzanine level in a part of the hall. In May 2008, when all the construction work was completed, the client awarded BREMER an additional contract for the realisation of a 1,600 kWp photovoltaic system. This consisted of approx. 22,000 thin-film modules including the complete aluminium substructure as well as wiring for the inverters. The logistics building's roof is excellent for solar modules. It is one of the largest solar systems in Rhineland-Palatinate.
