Description of the facility

The project involves the construction of a new logistics centre for ROMA KG on a 39,000 m² site. The complex consists of a single-storey logistics hall (12,559 m² floor area), a spare parts warehouse with social facilities for HGV drivers (365 m² floor area), a further building to accommodate offices (210 m² on the ground floor) and parking spaces (950 m² on the ground floor and 1,160 m² as a covered parking deck on the upper floor), a 234 m long, 6 m high noise barrier and a total of 12,500 m² of outdoor concrete surfacing for the depot. Owing to the special subsoil conditions (peat), special CMC foundations need to be realised here for the logistics hall, spare parts warehouse and the entire outdoor concrete area.

Logistics hall:
This is the core element of the logistics centre. The floor is raised approx. 1.25 m above the level of the rest of the site and accessed via two ground-level loading corridors at the south and north ends of the hall. The corridors are designed as drive-through channels, each featuring 2 sectional doors. In addition, a total of 22 dock levellers with receiving doors and loading houses are positioned along the west facade of the building. Inside the hall, 3 ground-floor sanitary installations will be realised. Another indoor installation will accommodate offices and technical rooms. The roof area of this installation is intended for use as a visitor platform and can be accessed by a separate staircase. The incoming goods area is designed as an extension to the hall. It incorporates an additional sectional door with a separate access ramp and 2 more dock levellers with receiving doors and loading houses.
