The logistics building is situated in the backfill area of a former open-cast lignite mine. To ensure adequate loadbearing capacity, special construction engineering measures need to be taken to improve the mechanical properties of the foundations. The logistics building has a total GFA of 11,900 sq m, of which approx. 950 sq m is designed for deep-freeze storage and around 550 sq m for cold storage. Vehicle access to the logistics centre is provided by an HGV yard with 27 receiving gates with dock levellers, 3 loadhouses and an approx. 950 sq m covered loading bay. The logistics building is flanked by a 2-storey office and social building with approx. 870 sq m GFA. This building accommodates the administration as well as the break rooms and social facilities for industrial employees.
