Description of the facility

In Langen, BREMER is building a high-quality office building (approx. 7,000 sqm) with an adjacent production hall (approx. 10,000 sqm) for the American company American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM).
The hall will be used for the production and testing of prototypes from AAM's portfolio (axles, transmission parts and vibration dampers for combustion engines in the automotive industry).

Special features

The architectonic panel façade design consists of continuous mullion-transom glass façade elements in blue SunGuard glazing combined with exposed concrete elements from the BREMER plant in Paderborn.

The production hall is separated from the office by a continuous fire wall. Behind the fire wall are the individual offices, each with F90 glazing facing the production area and full glass walls towards the open-plan offices. The open-plan offices are flooded with light through the mullion and transom façade and are fitted with extensive equipment.
The glass façade is equipped with automatic glare protection on the interior. A meeting room with glass walls is integrated in the centre of each open-plan office.
All taps, dryers and flushes are equipped with sensors for maximum hygiene in touch-free quality.
The building contains various meeting and training rooms that can be divided by means of fully automatic partition walls.

Five so-called DYNO rooms are provided within the hall. They are made of reinforced concrete with interior sound-insulation panels. The foundation of these DYNO rooms consists of 1-metre-thick reinforced concrete floors on which cast steel plates are laid horizontally to a tolerance of 1/100mm. These plates were individually cast at the steel mill and provided with milled grooves to receive machinery. The weight of each steel plate for a DYNO room is approx. 90 tonnes. This very unusual service for a construction company was implemented on behalf of BREMER AG.

The building is fully equipped with sprinklers and has an emergency power generator to maintain basic functions in case of an incident.
