LEICHT Küchen production facility

BREMER has been contracted to construct the production plant for Leicht Küchen AG on an 80,000 m² site in Schwäbisch Gmünd. The ultra-modern, highly automated production facility complete with high-bay warehouse and cold halls consists of 5 fire compartments extending over an area of 42,700 m². Inside the building, in-plant structures for social facilities and rest rooms are planned as well as various technical areas. In the west corner of the building is a 2-storey technical and administrative area incorporating offices, social facilities and workshops. At the southeast corner, the building is fronted by a gatehouse. At the rear of the building is a loading yard with 15 loading bays and a delivery/disposal area with container sites, lift and crane system. The building features a dark-grey metal cassette facade with vertical and horizontal window elements. The cold halls on the longitudinal sides of the building are additionally clad in large polycarbonate facades. Particular mention should be made of the system for re-using wood shavings from production operations. They are collected in the 30 m high silo tower and fed to a woodchip boiler to heat the building.
